about

"Great technique and talent...reminds me of Sting and Django Rienhart all at the same time!!!" - Angeline, Harrogate.

"I can't get you outta my head... bouncy little snap with a dash of attitude giving it a jazzie flavor. Haven't been to your page for a while and thought i'd come over and check it out.. am glad i did. i liked the song.. must be nice to be able to express yourself so individually. most of us have to use what people like you have penned to try to verbalize what we can't." Ms. Poppy, South Dakota, USA

Written in Stoke-on-Trent in 1992 and initially recorded with the late Race Newton on piano in Whitby then with Dirk Zodiac at Race's goat farm in Grosmont. Years later, around 2007, Daryl would be fortunate to encounter Dave Sturt who had played in London with both Race and Dirk in the 1980s. Through Race, Daryl had met Isaac Guillory a couple of times and Dave Sturt had also performed with him. It was fitting, then, that Dave kindly agreed to play bass on this song as the 1994 sessions on cassette with Race and Dirk had survived in the archives and were arranged by producer Mark Beeston along with fresh drums in this 2020 version.
Here we have the extended version produced from restored cassette sessions with Race Newton and Derek Graham from around 1994.
