Written in Scunthorpe in 1995. It began with a piano riff now played on Hammond organ by Brian F. Melville. Canadian band The Philosopher Kings were a big influence on Daryl at the time. This was one of the first songs that he and producer Mark Beeston began recording back in 2004, tracking the drums, bass and guitars. Brian had provided the idea for the horn arrangement that Mark wrote for Matt Anderson to play.
